The Launch Movement exists to build a culture of innovation in the SCJ and to be a rally point for courageous leaders in the United Methodist Church.

Last October, courageous leaders from across the South Central Jurisdiction (SCJ) gathered together for an experiment in collaboration called Launch 1.0.

Launch 1.0 was the kick-off experience for the Courageous Leadership Imperative (CLI) and would not have been possible without the collaborative efforts of the SCJ Bishops and Foundations. We are grateful for the work that was done in order to bring these vibrant, creative leaders together to network, dream, and explore ministry possibilities.

Since the inaugural event, Launch has been developing into a movement that helps courageous leaders move their ideas to reality.

LAUNCH MINDSETS

Take Action

Launch leaders are not timid. They are willing to take action, adjust, and move the ball forward.

Listen Missionally

Empathy leads to deeper understanding and more satisfying solutions. Listening to the people you serve may be the most courageous step forward.

Embrace Holy Discomfort

People rarely grow when they are comfortable. Launch leaders invite the Holy Spirit to disrupt the status quo, even if it is uncomfortable.

Learn in Community

The people around us are filled with insights and experience. We seek to learn together, not in isolation.

Accelerate Courage

Everyone has the capacity for courage, sometimes we just need someone to help bring it out of us. Launch leaders encourage one another.

Expand Imagination

Sometimes our daily demands can weigh down our spiritual imagination. Launch is a place to embrace the unknown and expand what is possible.

Collaborate

Collaboration is the future of movement making. No more lone rangers, we believe that people were meant to dare greatly together.
